Pastor Emilio De La Cruz

I am so priveleged to be the Pastor at New Life Covenant Church.

God saved me at the age of 18 from a life of drugs, alcohol and crime. After my dad left when I was 8 years old my home was filled with the violence of alcoholic men. I grew up filled with rage and lived a violent lifestyle. I found myself in and out of jail and finally facing a prison term. But when God saved me in 1975 he made a radical transformation in me and almost immediately I felt a call to preach. I attended Southern Arizona Bible College and later met my wife Elvira. Together we were pastors in Chelan Washington for 14 years and have been pastors of Avondale Christian Assembly in Arizona since July of 2000. God blessed us with Two beautiful daughters Jennifer and Emily, Jonathan Rosado our son-in-law and three wonderful grandkids, Micah and Caleb and Janiah. Throughout my ministry God has placed me in, I have been blessed to have planted 8 churches. God has also allowed my ministry to travel throughout parts of South America, as well as countries in Europe such as Romania and Kosovo. I have recently written a Book, "Leading With Vision" that has become a number one seller in the district and forwarded by Dr. Sergio Navarrete, Superintendent of Southern Specific District Of The Assemblies of God. God is good and my greatest goal in life is to be faithful to the one who saved me and called me into the ministry, Jesus my savior my Lord and my greatest love.

 WHEN YOU PRAY….

WHEN DO YOU PRAY?

YOU PRAY WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE LORD

YOU PRAY WHEN YOU SPEAK TO THE LORD

YOU PRAY WHEN YOU PRAISE HIM OR THANK HIM

YOU PRAY WHEN YOU SING TO HIM

BUT DO YOU HAVE A TIME THAT YOU HAVE SEPARATED JUST TO PRAY?

AS A CHURCH FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS WE HAVE SEPARATED MONDAY NIGHTS AS CHURCH PRAYER TIME.

  1. MOST DO NOT SEPARATE A DAILY PRAYERTIME SO THIS IS A WAY THAT YOU CAN AT THE VERY LEAST SEPARATE A WEEKLY PRAYERTIME.

  1. WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT.
    1. I GET DIRECTION FOR MY SPIRITUAL LIFE
    2. I GET RENEWED VISION
    3. I GET TO KNOW GOD MORE
    4. I GET SPIRITUAL STRENGTH TO CONTINUE

  1. WE ARE NOT ALL CALLED TO A MINISTRY OF PRAYER BUT WE ALL ARE CALLED TO PRAY.
    1. THERE IS A MINISTRY OF PRAYER THAT WE CALL INTERCESSION. GOD IS RAISING UP INTERCESORS WITH GIFTS OF FAITH TO DO SPIRITUAL WARFARE, MOVE MOUNTAINS AND LIFT UP THE PASTOR AND LEADERSHIP OF THE CHURCH.
    2. THESE ARE THE AARONS WHO LIFT UP THE PASTORS ARMS SO THAT THE JOSHUAS CAN DEFEAT THE ENEMIES.
  2. JESUS KNEW THAT WE WOULD PRAY. HE HIMSELF IS OUR MODEL FOR PRAYER.
    1. PRAYER COMES FROM A DESIRE TO FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
    2. THE DISCIPLES SAW SOMETHING THEY WANTED
    3. JESUS GAVE A MODEL PRAYER
