Pastor Emilio De La Cruz

I am so priveleged to be the Pastor at New Life Covenant Church.

God saved me at the age of 18 from a life of drugs, alcohol and crime. After my dad left when I was 8 years old my home was filled with the violence of alcoholic men. I grew up filled with rage and lived a violent lifestyle. I found myself in and out of jail and finally facing a prison term. But when God saved me in 1975 he made a radical transformation in me and almost immediately I felt a call to preach. I attended Southern Arizona Bible College and later met my wife Elvira. Together we were pastors in Chelan Washington for 14 years and have been pastors of Avondale Christian Assembly in Arizona since July of 2000. God blessed us with Two beautiful daughters Jennifer and Emily, Jonathan Rosado our son-in-law and three wonderful grandkids, Micah and Caleb and Janiah. Throughout my ministry God has placed me in, I have been blessed to have planted 8 churches. God has also allowed my ministry to travel throughout parts of South America, as well as countries in Europe such as Romania and Kosovo. I have recently written a Book, "Leading With Vision" that has become a number one seller in the district and forwarded by Dr. Sergio Navarrete, Superintendent of Southern Specific District Of The Assemblies of God. God is good and my greatest goal in life is to be faithful to the one who saved me and called me into the ministry, Jesus my savior my Lord and my greatest love.

My dad left us when I was 8, then came a crazy life of parties, drugs and violence. I grew up catholic, went with my grandma to 8 oclock mass. But my heart was full of rage and bitterness. Even though I went to church I knew nothing about the  bible and very little about Jesus. Only that he had sufferred and died I might have known that He rose again from the dead but it did'nt mean anything to me.

So what good is religion if it does not change you for the better. What good is religion if it does not set drug addicts free and bring peace to the turbulant heart? Do you know any drug addict that have been set free in your religion? Do you know people who's lives have been radically changed for the better?

What good is religion if it does not teach me the word of God. Is there any authority any greater that the bible? Do you know what the bible says about Eternal life? about sin? about life? about death?

One day I walked into a church with a bag of marijuana in my pocket and still high from the joints we had smoked before we arrived at the church. I experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. He touched my heart and I was not the same. Since then just in my own extended family I have seen marriages saved, alchoholics set free, healing miracles and lives radically changed. A couple of weeks later in the same church I made a full commitment to follow Jesus, Why? because I fell in love with the man who lived a sinless life and died on the cross for me. I fell in love with the man who cared enough about my life to send people to tell me that He could change my life. I fell in love with him and one thing about me is that I am loyal. I will not leave Him I will not let my love for Him grow cold.

Jesus Loves you and when you meet Him you will love Him too.

"We love Him because He first loved us"
