In December 1999,
Paul Ohlson and his wife, Bridget, delivered food and Christmas gifts to needy
families in their mobile home. It was a blessing to the community and a blessing to
them, so in 2000, they started Care-A-Van Ministries.
Osceola Community Church (AG) in Wisconsin joined with six other area churches to organize a Reach for More youth
event. Organizers report that 500 youth attended the event — the town's entire population is 2,800.
Last year, Gleanings for the Hungry ministry produced 4
million pounds of food for partnering churches and missions agencies. As part of their partnership, Convoy of Hope transports donated goods to
Gleanings for the Hungry and they transport the final product to Convoy of Hope — this allows both agencies to help feed the hungry.
An unmasked gunman approached and shot Bishop Artur Suleimanov in the head on Thursday, July 15. He died from his wounds several hours later. Suleimanov's church is part of the Pentecostal Union — a member of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship.
Ten years ago, hell
was a frequent topic both in and out of churches — now it seems to have fallen
off the map. Many think it's still an important and relevant topic that needs
to be taught. In fact, one of the 16 AG fundamental truths deals with final judgment.
Nineteen women, many of them AG
district women's directors, traveled with Arlene Allen and Karlene
Gannon of
the national Women's Department to Haiti. The missions team attended
meetings
and provided a water filtration system to each woman for her family, and also
visited two Latin America ChildCare schools.
The Empowered 21 conference in
Tulsa, Oklahoma, drew more than 10,000 people from nearly 100 nations in
April.
The conference brought together Christian scholars, leaders and
Spirit-filled
believers, who gathered to prepare for the future of Spirit-empowered
Christianity.
After living the lesbian lifestyle for more
than 25 years, God redeemed Lois DeLong in 2003, thanks to Cornerstone AG in Danville, Kentucky. Since her radical change, she has become executive director of CrossOver Ministries, an organization that is involved in reaching out to current and former homosexuals.

Larry Rose, the volunteer chaplain for the Center for the Blind of the Assemblies of God, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, as a result of a fall. He was 73.

ago, a missionary visited Manny Ohonme's community in Nigeria and gave him a pair of shoes. Because of those shoes, Ohonme later received a
scholarship to play basketball. This experience led he and his wife to begin Samaritan's Feet, an organization that sends shoes around the world.

Johnny
Kelley is currently on his second Bike for the Light Tour to raise money for
Speed the
Light. More than halfway done with tour, which will end at National Fine Arts in
Detroit, Kelley has traveled close to 8,000 miles across America and is
encouraging others to get involved with missions.
The New York District School of Ministry started with only 30 students in 2008, but more than 275 people enrolled last year. The school offers a minimum of 24 courses that meet
requirements for the three levels of AG ministerial credentialing.
Students prepare
hearts and trust for the finances to take part in Detroit 2010 AIM
outreach,
while having faith in a calling and anticipation for what God is going
to do in
the city. While need is overwhelming, students are believing for
miracles and
looking to change lives through ministry.
The Center for Religion and Civic
Culture at the University of Southern California is funding research in
23
countries on charismatic and Pentecostal Christianity. Grants totaling
$3.5
million are being awarded to five centers and another 16 scholar teams
to
conduct research in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the former Soviet
Union.
